From 16 to 18 October 2026, the group of five Talent delegates from the United Kingdom visited the Diocese of Rumonge in Burundi, accompanied by staff members of the Mothers’ Union from Bujumbura Province.
The purpose of their visit was to learn about the activities and achievements of the Mothers’ Union in the Diocese of Rumonge, particularly its literacy programs, savings and loans initiatives, and income-generating activities carried out by different groups.
During their visit, the delegates visited the literacy group at Mutambara Parish. There, they learned about the literacy program and how it helps members improve their reading and writing skills.
They also visited several savings and loans groups at Gatete Parish. They learned how these groups save money, provide loans to their members, and support small businesses and other income-generating activities.
The visit provided an opportunity for the delegates to exchange experiences, share ideas, and learn from the work of the Mothers’ Union in the Diocese of Rumonge.
It also helped strengthen the relationship between the Mothers’ Union in the United Kingdom and the Mothers’ Union in Burundi.
